Much to talk about

Time flies when you are having fun. It has been quite some time since I posted on my blog. Last time I posted it was to say farewell to a good friend, well, that friend has returned and taken up his spot as the elec. guitar player with Evidence. I am so glad to have Dwayne back.

This past Saturday was a day full of work. It got started for me a little after 7a.m. and didn't stop till after 11 p.m. Saturday in the MLK park in Conroe, CUPC had a Holy Ghost filled street service. It was a privilege for me to be able to assist Pastor Smith with some of the technical areas to keep it off of his shoulders. I can't say enough about the moving of the Spirit that was all over the park. We pulled in the trailer/stage at a little before 11 a.m. and already some of the kids that knew what was happening were there ready to get things kicked off. Some even looked disappointed when they found out we were just setting up and things wouldn't get going till around 2 that afternoon. There is no doubt in my mind that the Gospel was spread throughout that neighborhood.

Some may wonder about what kind of burden, passion, compassion, etc one must have in order for a street service to be a success, well there is no doubt in my mind that Pastor Smith has found his passion. It has been a long time since I have seen such a look of awe on his face as to the work the Lord was doing but that is exactly what I saw on Saturday. From best I can figure 2 were baptized and at least 7 spoke in tongues (this number could be more I don't quite know).

After an exciting Saturday came an explosive Sunday back home in Willis, at Abundant Life. God moved in early on and turned the service upside down. We baptized one young girl Sunday morning and 2 Sunday night. Since January we have baptized and seen more filled with the Holy Ghost than we did all of last year(and it was many last year).

God is doing great things in all of our communities all we have to do is follow his lead and go reach the world.

I was stopped this afternoon (Monday) by one of my customers that had some questions about the Bible. When I was finished answering his questions I looked down and we had been talking for almost 1 1/2 hours. I left there and returned back to my station to park my truck and got into another bible discussion with a hungry co-worker. It will not be long and I will be baptizing him. He made mention to me today that he had been baptized as a child (in the titles I might add) but felt that he needed to do it over again and recommit to God. I took a few minutes and talked with about Jesus Name Baptism and the infilling of the Holy Ghost and he was just soaking it up. It all ended on a high note.

Pastor Stovall challenged us to pray more, fast more, and listen to God more last night in his message. May each of you who reads this have Blessed services and may your burden for the lost be increased.

Losing a family member

Russell started a band a few years back. The name of the group is "Evidence". Several musicians have come on board after the formation including myself. Recently we added a new drummer, Mark Lamb. Prior to Mark, Dwayne Campbell was drumming for us. Mark came on board when Dwayne started playing electric guitar for us. Our group has come a long way in a short while.

Sadly, the time has come for another change. In less than a month we will be losing Dwayne. Since becoming a guitar player, Dwayne has progressed very fast. He has picked it up and started playing with some amazing quickness. Dwayne has accepted a transfer with his company to Ohio. Dwayne's wife has family there so they will be right at home.

Dwayne we will miss you and the great blessing that you were to us.

These are pics of our last street service in Willis, Texas. The name of our band is "Evidence". Yes that is real sweat on our brows (it was kinda hot). We try to do this at least once a month as an outreach tool and it works really well. The stage we are playing on belongs to the church and we take it wherever we go. It is a 40' Gooseneck inclosed that the sides drop out and make our stage.

Well I have had this blog account now a little over a year and this will be what appears to be lame beginings. I have spent some time trying to figure out what the buzz about blogging is. I have come to the conclusion that I may never really know but I just need to blog. From time to time I may post anything from pics to sermon notes to who knows what. So if you are reading enjoy
